I am originally from North Carolina however I was stationed at McConnell AFB in Wichita for 5 of my 6-year enlistment. I deployed multiple times in support of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom and have over 1,500 combat flight hours. My goal for this year is to increase member participation in post activities as well as increasing the amount of activities we host.

I attended the Department of Kansas Convention in Topeka from May 19 – 21. I met our new District and Department Leadership in addition to voting on a few resolutions on behalf of our Post and District. I will debrief this in more detail during our June meeting.
This year we had a great turnout for the Memorial Day Ceremonies in both Spring Hill and Hillsdale. The local Boy and Girl scouts posted the colors. The Spring Hill Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, and Post 350 conducted a wreath laying ceremony in addition to delivering remarks to remember our fallen heroes.
June 2nd through 4th I will be attending the Kansas American Legion Leadership College in Concordia.
June 6th at 7pm will be our next post meeting. We are currently meeting in the Suite next to Gambino’s Pizza while the civic center is under renovation. I look forward to seeing you there!
Tommy Holland, Commander/Adjutant
American Legion Auxiliary:
We had another busy month. We held a special meeting to select the winners of our poppy poster contest. All three winners came from Prairie Creek. We met with all the 3rd grade classes and presented the 3 Sonic gift cards to the winners. Poppy Day started off real gloomy and wet. We had a very good response from the citizens of Spring Hill. Thanks to all the ladies and Girl Scouts that help with the event. Due to miss communications we were sorry to miss National Day of Prayer. We held elections at our May meeting and will install the new officers in June. We were blessed with perfect weather for our Memorial Service at the Spring Hill and Hillsdale cemeteries. Thanks to all our Ladies who attended and a special thanks to Helen Hecke for her help in getting the flags put out. Due to the large donation of clothes in April we will not be taking clothes again until August. You will be getting a call ahead of time for used clothing and cookies.
